Trauma Therapy

Living with unresolved trauma can feel like carrying an invisible weight — one that shows up as disconnection, anxiety, or a sense of being stuck in patterns you can't quite explain. Whether you're navigating PTSD, processing childhood wounds, or beginning your healing journey for the first time, support is available.

I offer trauma-focused counselling in Victoria, BC and across Vancouver Island, both in person and virtually, for adults at every stage of healing.

My approach to trauma therapy

Healing is not about fixing what is broken — it's about returning to wholeness, across body, mind, spirit, and relationship. My practice integrates several evidence-based approaches:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) — a well-researched treatment recognized for its effectiveness in reducing PTSD symptoms, allowing many people to process traumatic memories without needing to describe them in detail

  • Trauma-informed, body-aware counselling — working with the whole nervous system, not just thought patterns

  • Two-Eyed Seeing (Etuaptmumk) — holding Indigenous knowledge and Western clinical approaches together, honouring cultural safety alongside clinical care

  • Narrative therapy — exploring how the stories we carry about ourselves can be gently re-authored

Who this is for

I work with adults navigating childhood trauma, intergenerational and family trauma, PTSD, and the lasting effects of residential school legacy. Sessions are paced collaboratively — you set the depth and speed of the work.

Frequently asked questions

Is EMDR right for me?
EMDR is well-suited for processing specific traumatic memories, though it isn't the right fit for everyone. We'll discuss together whether it makes sense for your situation.

Is it ever too late to address childhood trauma?
No. Many people find that addressing childhood wounds as an adult brings significant relief and clarity, no matter how much time has passed.

How do I know if trauma therapy could help me?
Signs it may help include recurring intrusive memories, difficulty trusting others, emotional numbness, chronic anxiety, or a sense of being stuck. If the past feels like it's shaping your present in unwanted ways, reaching out is a meaningful first step.
