Depression Therapy

Depression can sap your energy, making it hard to get out of bed or find meaning in the things you once loved. It can feel isolating, heavy, and hard to explain to the people around you — but you don't have to carry it alone.

I offer depression therapy for residents across Vancouver Island, both online and in person in Sidney, Victoria, and Langford. My approach is trauma-informed, body-aware, and grounded in Two-Eyed Seeing (Etuaptmumk), integrating Indigenous knowledge and Western clinical care.

How I work with depression

Depression rarely exists on its own — it's often connected to unresolved trauma, chronic stress, grief, or disconnection from culture, community, or self. Rather than only managing symptoms, we'll work together to understand what's underneath them, using approaches that may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), EMDR, and narrative therapy, shaped around what fits you.

What to expect

  • A judgment-free space — no pressure to have things figured out before reaching out

  • Flexible access — virtual sessions from anywhere on Vancouver Island, or in-person if you're in the Greater Victoria area

  • A collaborative pace — therapy shaped around what you actually need, not a fixed program

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if what I'm feeling is depression?
Signs can include low energy, loss of interest in things you used to enjoy, difficulty concentrating, or a persistent low mood. If this sounds familiar, reaching out for an initial conversation is a good first step — no diagnosis required to begin.

Is online therapy effective for depression?
Yes. Virtual sessions offer the same depth of care as in-person therapy, with added flexibility for days when leaving the house feels harder.

Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed — you can reach out directly to book a first session.

You don't have to keep carrying this alone.
